The groundbreaking occurred at 4850 Groh Lane, where the grounds are expected to serve as a 31,000 square-foot indoor sports facility for athletes with special needs once the Hope Center is completed. Joe Nuxhall's son, Kim, says that the facility started as his dad's dream 22 years ago. "Dad would be so overwhelmed with joy as well," said Kim Nuxhall. "You know, he loved this community. And I think this is a reflection of the community loving him back." The Nuxhall Foundation has already raised $7.5 million as it now begins construction on the Hope Center. However, the project has a total fundraising target of $12 million as the foundation seeks to fully realize all of the facility's planned components. As a result, donations continue to be encouraged to be made to the project by those who wish to assist in realizing the Reds legend's vision of making sports accessible to all. More information about the Hope Center, including on how to make donations, can be found at the Nuxhall Miracle League's website.
